| The BBFS, founded in 1952, has been running tours and exchanges since the 1970s. Its programme of special interest tours, which focus on bird watching and natural history, produces an income which is given away to a variety of conservation and educational causes. The tours are priced competitively to encourage people to visit Bulgaria and learn about its rich natural history. This is made possible by the British organiser and tour leaders acting as volunteers. Tailor-made Tours: We have long experience of organising tours, including Reader Offers for magazines, tailor-made arrangements for individuals, couples, small or large groups of friends and commercial birdwatching companies. In London: Dr.Annie Kay has organised tours for the BBFS for 11 years.During this time the number and variety of tours has considerably increased. She also writes about Bulgaria, its tourist destinations and its wine, for several publications. Ognian Avgarski, formerly the Director of the Bulgarian National Tourist Office in London has over thirty years’ experience in Bulgarian tourism.
